Aug 7, 2017 - I just bought a tokai love rock from an old Japanese guy. He had it for a very long. It has no serial number on the headstock. No serial or any. Tokai Love Rock LS95 Review with Phil & Dan from Dublin, Ireland. Serial number reveals it is a 2014 model.

I bought this Tokai Love Rock GT recently from someone I jammed with at a party. I didn't know about Tokai guitars and the only reason I bought this is because it played and sounded so much better (sounds thicker and warmer) than the Epiphone LP I owned (no disrepect to Epiphone owners, the Epiphone I had was one of the cheaper ones). Since I bought this, I've read so many good things about Tokai guitars and I realized that I should've checked the serial number before I bought this. Here's the link to the photos: I know I have to take pictures again because these photos don't do justice to its beauty up close.

As you can see, there's no serial number on the back of the headstock. I checked the pickup cavities and in the back as well, but there's still no serial number. I read in another forum that some MIK don't have serial numbers. But this one has a 2 screw truss rod cover which means it's MIJ, right? The tuning machines are pale green in color and looks vintage old.

You can really tell the guitars is a bit old by just looking at the screws in the pickguard. The guitar has had some fews upgrades: - Pickups have been replaced with Gibson 57+ and 57 classice ones. I check the pickups and the seller gave me the 2 pickup cases. - The nut has been replaced by a newer bone nut (but still looks old though). - The stop tailpiece has been replaced with a Gotoh. I tried registering to the Tokai forums but they're not accepting my Email address.

I can't contact the seller either. Derek, there is a forum that deals almost exclusively with Tokai. I suggest you google the following two words, 'Tokai' and 'forum.'

Maybe you might get answers from quite a few tokaiheads there. Its pretty easy to put a 2 screw TRC on after taking off the 3 screw TRC. You need to pull the the control cover in the back and take a pic of that stuff. Then pull at least the neck pickup and take several pics of that cavity from at least 4 different angles, getting good shots of the neck joint area and routs and wire channels and holes.

Looks like a nice guitar. Edit - I guess I didn't read your entire first post. Hey, open a hotmail or yahoo email account!
